Earlier this week Josh Hader was named to his fourth All-Star Game . He was joined by reigning Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes as the only two Brewers to be selected. However, Hader has been replaced in the All-Star Game by Carlos Rodón. The original report was that Hader had been placed on the bereavement list, but MLB's public relations Twitter account has since deleted the post claiming so.
Hader is not on the bereavement list, the Brewers say. He will miss the all-star game due to family responsibilities but the official MLBPR info is wrong.

According to the Brewers, Josh Hader has NOT been placed on the bereavement list. But it’s true he will not participate in the All-Star Game due to family responsibilities, the club says.

As of right now, there is no indication that Hader will miss any games leading up to the All-Star break. The Brewers will play two games against the Twins followed by a four-game series against The Giants. Hader and his wife Maria Hader welcomed their first child in June, so it is understandable that he would stay at home as opposed to go to the All-Star Game. Hogg also reported on Hader’s status leading up to the break.
So, to confirm: Josh Hader is not expected to miss any actual games. He just is not going to LA for the ASG next week. The MLBPR statement had an error.

Hader is the first Brewers pitcher to be selected to four All-Star games. However, many thought that Devin Williams would accompany him this year. Unfortunately, Williams was not selected to the team, even with Hader opting out. Williams being snubbed has been a common discourse amongst Brewers fans. It surely will remain that way with Rodón replacing Hader.
Hader has been one of the Brewers’ most important players so far this season. There have been rumors about possible trades, but right now Hader is a key contributor to the Brewers’ pennant chase.
